To Congress Or not to Congress

Hello, fellow traveler of the digital realm!

It’s very exciting to have you here. What are the odds of you reading this post that I am typing right now? I would say that they are pretty slim. And that makes it a wondrous occasion for us to meet.

If you have some time, I would like to talk to you about congresses. According to the dictionary, a congress is a “large formal meeting of representatives of countries or societies in which ideas are discussed and information exchanged”.

That sounds lovely right?

If you ask me, it brings up a few questions:

First of all; why is the US governmental body called congress? They do a lot more than just discuss ideas and exchange information.

Secondly; how large does a formal meeting need to be in order to be called a congress?

Do you have answers to these questions? Let me know in the comments below!

Have a great day!
